2022 My Mega Challenge for MS

Aside from looking forward to taking part in a virtual fundraising challenge at the end of November, I’m taking part to raise funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other chronic neurological condition and average age of diagnosis is 30. It can strike anyone at any time and the symptoms vary so widely.

For instance, can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), you physically can’t get out of bed, can’t walk to the phone to call someone – anyone – or live a life without pain?

All of a sudden your world has changed.

By being part of this event, and because of your generous sponsorship, the funds we raise will allow people living with multiple sclerosis to access vital MS Support Services. Services such as MS Peer Support, connecting people who are newly diagnosed with those who have lived with multiple sclerosis for a number of years, or the MS Employment Support program keeping Aussies living with multiple sclerosis in the work force.

Thank you again for your support.

End of the day!

Sunday 27th Nov
it was a great day! Summer at last! But despite the lovely outdoors, I sewed away from dawn till dusk, when we took photos fo the finished products of the day work! Thank you so much for supporting me! Special thanks to Lizzie M for coming up to sew with me for the last hours of the day, providing much appreciated enthusiam for our tasks, and to  Cheryl for lending me her machine as a back-up on case mine had a tizzy fit.
It was such an easy way to support a cause which positively affexts so many people with MS.

Ready to sew!

Wednesday 23rd Nov
Think I've cut and prepped enough household items (mostly repurposed fabrics!) to keep me going in the easy lane, plus a few trickier half-finished garments to go.... Should have enough for 12 + 2 hours. Whew!
I'm hoping to reach my target by the end of the day at least! Just need 10 more $20 donations and I'm there! Anyone like to help???? You're helping MS provide more support to people who can live so well, if they have useful aids, and good physio, and more!

This Challenge is Serious!

Friday 11th Nov
This is the preparation stage for the Mega Marathon Sewathon. My Workplace Safety guard insists on full mask for steamironing. What happens when sewing? Gloves? Earmuffs? Wait & see.
NOTE - recycling is part of this event- an ancient and much loved tablecloth which has seen much red wine spilled will become serviettes. .

Thank you to my Sponsors
