Why We Swim – For Kaitlyn, Co Captain Of Sapes Swimmers
Sunday 20th Jul
This year’s MS Mega Swim means more to us than ever.
My daughter, Kaitlyn, is living with multiple sclerosis. She’s strong, resilient, and faces this condition with courage every day—but MS doesn’t fight fair. Just this week, we learned Kaitlyn has a new small lesion on her brain. It’s small, but it means going back on tough treatment that knocks her around.
That’s the reality of MS: it doesn’t stop. But neither do we.
That’s why we’ve formed Team Sape’s Swimmers—to raise funds for vital MS research, treatment programs, and support services that people like Kaitlyn rely on. Every dollar helps provide hope and a future where MS is no longer a life sentence.
If you can, please donate or share our page. Do it for Kaitlyn. Do it for the thousands of Australians living with MS right now.
Together, we can make a difference.
Cheers Dave

Sapes Swimmers Mission Statement
Sunday 13th JulThis year, I’m proud to be leading Sape’s Swimmers in the MS Mega Swim in Sydney — a 24-hour swimming relay to raise vital funds for people living with multiple sclerosis.
For me, it’s not just a charity event. It’s personal.
My daughter Kaitlyn lives with MS.
Watching her face the challenges of this unpredictable disease with strength, grace, and determination inspires me more than words can express.
Her courage drives me. And every lap we swim is a tribute to her fight.
By supporting our team, you’re not just donating to a good cause — you’re standing with Kaitlyn, also supporting families like ours, and with everyone affected by this disease.
Cheers
