I'M TAKING THE CHALLENGE TO FIGHT MS!
Aside from looking forward to joining others in the fun and atmosphere on the day, I’m taking part to raise funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
Multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other chronic neurological condition and average age of diagnosis is 30. It can strike anyone at any time and the symptoms vary so widely.
For instance, can you imagine waking up one day unable to do the everyday things you would usually take for granted? Like not being able to see properly (or at all), you physically can’t get out of bed, can’t walk to the phone to call someone – anyone – or live a life without pain?
All of a sudden your world has changed.
By being part of this event, and because of your generous sponsorship, the funds we raise will allow people living with multiple sclerosis to access vital MS Plus Support Services. Services such as MS Plus Peer Support Groups, connecting people who are newly diagnosed with those who have lived with multiple sclerosis for a number of years, or the Plus Employment Support Service keeping Aussies living with multiple sclerosis in the work force.

By now y’all know a few things about me, including that I swim a lot. Over the years I’ve done a few challenges, all ocean based.
The other thing is that I’m living with Multiple Sclerosis. So this year I’m joining the MS mega swim challenge.
That’s 24hrs of continuous swimming in a pool, as a team, to raise funds for MS PLUS.
MS PLUS is a valuable resource that I keep going back to for information, updates on the research, expert advice, tools and resources to navigate the day to day.
And boy do you need that during diagnostic, new episodes, pandemics (remember the added risk for those immunocompromised ?) … never a dull day with MS.
It’s also a great place for friends and family to educate themselves and get support for as they navigate its impact on their loved ones.
The funds raised will help MSers and their support network continue to access those resources for free.
So here’s my ask from you:
- please donate what you can to support me and the Megarama team who will be taking turns to swim continuously for 24hrs
- DM me to join us and swim for a few laps
- ask me any questions
